Thermocouple Protection Sheaths

Thermocouple protection sheaths are used to shield temperature probes in harsh environments. They are specifically designed to protect thermocouples against corrosive gases or liquids, and help prevent physical damage, all of which can lead to thermocouple failure.

TMS Europe have been manufacturing thermocouple protection sheaths for a wide range of applications (kilns, furnaces, crematoriums, etc) for many years. Our sheaths are manufactured using the swaging method which closes the open end of a metal tube to form a sleeve or sheath. We are capable of swaging a range of different metals and sizes, and also offer a swaging service where we accept a customer's free issue tube to swage.

Our stock of metal tube includes 304, 310 and 321 Stainless Steel, Chrome Iron, 253MA, Inconel 600, Nicrobell D and Kanthal, available in a range of common sizes to suit temperatures of up to 1300°C. We also stock alumina and silicon carbide sheaths offer temperature resistance up to 1600°C which can be used to manufacture an entire thermocouple assembly including outer protection sheath.

We manufacture protection sheaths in sizes ranging from 12.7mm to 33.4mm diameter up to a maximum of 6 metres long. Tube and sheaths can be supplied threaded at the open end or with a welded head adaptor, bush or flange.
