It consists of the InstCube FCE Instrument Enclosure; a versatile case to contain instruments and their connections, supplied with the InstCube FCE Front Panel (also available seperately); with pre-defined cutout areas to take variety of controllers and recorders, and an optional Wall Mounting Bracket (also available seperately).The InstCube FCE Instrument Enclosure is made of thin mild steel, making it easy to customise (with a hand nibbler or small cutting wheel), and has ventilation grills to prevent heat build up. The Enclosure consists of multiple panels, all have earthing points. The design allows the possiblity of extention or 'stacking' for larger size variations. Assembly is with M5 screws and attached threaded bushes. The unit can be supplied with all necessary screws, as well as four rubber feet.
Other pre-made case sizes with similar functionality also available, details available on request. These cases have been fabricated in quantity for our own use, so additional customisation/variations/bespoke comissions beyond the existing flexiblity of the designs in stock are not economically viable. Case parts and most ancillaries are held in stock, lead-time ~1 week, depending on options and level of assistance required.It has cut-outs for optionally components providing power, comms, and sensor inputs, as follows:
- Filtered mains supply IEC connector - for detachable power connection
- M20 cable gland - for a power cable
- MCB & 4x fuse holders (rear/bottom)
- USB connector
- DB9 9-way serial connector (RS-232 or RS-485 communications)
- RJ45 network connector - for RS-485 or ethernet communications
- 8+ universal size thermocouple sockets - for sensor inputs or calibration injection
- Carry handle options.
